Billy Mwangi, who had been abducted two weeks ago, returned to his family’s home on Monday morning, January 6, 2025.
The young boy appeared at his family’s gate around 8:00 AM, bringing an end to a harrowing fortnight of uncertainty.

Mother’s Touching Account
His mother, Regina Wairimu, shared the emotional first moments of their reunion.
“He said ‘mum open the door’,” she recalled.
In a particularly moving scene, Billy embraced his mother, wiping away her tears before hugging her again, demonstrating their deep mother-son bond.
Father’s Statement
Speaking to the media hours after Billy’s unexpected return, his father, who had been making tearful pleas for his son’s safe return, described the morning’s events.
“I was with his mum when we saw him walking towards our home. It was around 8am. We are so thankful to everyone who has prayed with us. Thank you,” he said.
