Deputy President Kithure Kindiki made his first international journey to Gaborone, Botswana on Friday. The visit, which saw him representing President William Ruto at President Duma Boko’s inauguration, comes after two years of exclusively domestic service during his tenure as Interior and National Administration Cabinet Secretary.

Strengthening Bilateral Relations
Speaking at the event, Kindiki conveyed Kenya’s diplomatic goodwill, stating:
“Kenya salutes and commends the people of Botswana for exercising their civic and constitutional rights in the just concluded elections in an atmosphere of peace and tranquility.”
He further emphasized the strong ties between the two nations, noting:
“Kenya and Botswana continue to enjoy fraternal relations in diverse fields, among them, trade, security, education, agriculture and energy for the benefit of the people of the two nations.”
