Born into the harsh conditions of Mathare slums, Reverend Lucy Natasha’s journey to prominence began with personal challenges. Most notably, she faced a severe speech impediment from birth.
She revealed during an intimate interview with Betty Kyallo. This early struggle would later influence her decision to enter ministry at age 19.
“I was born a stammerer but God restored my speech at age 9. I was a shy kid, always behind the scenes because kids would make fun of me.”

Breaking Generational Poverty
The reverend’s determination to transform her family’s fortunes became a driving force in her life.
“We have nothing to hide. I grew up in Mathare slums. I wanted to be the first person in my family to rewrite our history, I wanted to break the shackles of poverty,” she shared passionately.
Her breakthrough came when she became the family pioneer in international travel, beginning with South Africa. Since then, she has expanded her horizons significantly, having
“traveled to 50 Nations in the world.”
Diverse Income Streams
Addressing widespread speculation about her financial status and allegations of involvement in money laundering (“wash wash”), Rev Natasha provided a comprehensive breakdown of her income sources.
“As I started getting international invitations, I started writing books, I currently have 12 books. I have a YouTube channel with over 500K subscribers, We are monetized. I earn over 10,000$ (Sh1.2 million) a month through YouTube. I am a businesswoman woman deals with real estate, I am a motivational speaker who has even invited globally. When people see a successful pastor they assume it is because of offering. We have partners who support our ministry. I do not know anything about Wash Wash.”
Response to Critics and Personal Style
The reverend has faced criticism for her luxurious lifestyle and fashionable appearance, which some consider inappropriate for a religious leader. However, she maintains a balanced perspective on personal presentation and ministry.
“The ones that judge you do not know me personally. I am not Jesus, I represent Jesus. I am a human being at the end of the day, the challenge we have is people want us to be perfect. If you see me slaying just let me be.”
According to her, maintaining a polished appearance is simply part of her personal standards, emphasizing her desire to look presentable, maintain good hygiene, and care for her appearance.
Ministry Journey
Her path to ministry began at a pivotal moment in her youth.
“It was at the age of 19 that I chose to pursue Ministry,”
She revealed, describing how her early experiences with speech difficulties and poverty shaped her calling to serve others through religious leadership. The ministry has since grown beyond local boundaries, attracting international attention and partnership opportunities that have contributed to both her personal growth and financial success.
