Years of Dedication Undone
According to social media activist Ndungu Nyoro, who shared the family’s story, the wife had devoted her entire life to supporting her husband throughout his teaching career.
She managed their household with dedication, preparing his meals and maintaining their home while anticipating their retirement years together.
The wife’s dreams of a peaceful retirement alongside her longtime partner were shattered when, mere weeks after receiving his pension, her husband made the devastating decision to leave. As shared in the post:
“Mum has cooked for Mzee all these years, eagerly awaiting his retirement. But now, she’s left in shock while he’s moved into another woman’s house. This was meant to be their time to enjoy together.”
Communication Breakdown
The situation has grown increasingly distressing as the father has severed all communication with his family. When reached out to, his response that “life has just begun” has left his children and wife both hurt and bewildered.
This sudden transformation in behavior has raised concerns about his state of mind and the influences in his new life.
Financial Concerns
Perhaps most worrying for the family is the financial aspect of the situation. With access to his retirement benefits, there are serious concerns about potential exploitation. As the family poignantly expressed:
“We fear he will be milked dry and eventually left alone, only to return home empty-handed, singing Kamaru’s songs of lost love and regret.”
Seeking Community Support
The family has taken the brave step of sharing their story publicly, hoping to connect with others who might have faced similar circumstances.
They’re actively seeking advice and guidance from the community, demonstrating their commitment to finding a resolution that might protect their father from potential financial exploitation while preserving what remains of their family bonds.
According to Ndung’u Nyoro, majority of Kenyan netizens said that Mzee should be left to enjoy life.
