Reports indicate that authorities are investigating alleged financiers behind the ongoing protests that have persisted for three weeks across the country. This came after the ODPP order the DCI to investigate protestors involved in property destruction during the protests.
According to the Nation, six politicians, a businessman, and two NGOs are suspected of funding the demonstrations.
The politicians are accused of mobilizing protesters from slum areas, infiltrating planned peaceful protests, and providing payments and logistical support like transportation to participants.
