In a Thursday interview on the Obinna Show, Kapseret Member of Parliament Oscar Sudi made startling claims about the recent looting of his night club by anti-government protesters.
The outspoken legislator pointed fingers at his political opponents, alleging they had paid young demonstrators to vandalize his property.
Sudi disclosed that he had received intelligence about the impending attack on his nightclub days before it occurred.
Despite this forewarning, the lawmaker made a conscious decision not to intervene, citing concerns over potential loss of life in a climate where anti-government protests had already resulted in several fatalities.
“I thank God because what could have happened there could have been so tragic. I didn’t want it to escalate into death because of cheap money,” Sudi explained, adding, “It was better for me to lose my property than for people to die. We were aware.”
The MP refuted claims that six individuals had lost their lives while attempting to break into his Timber XO club. He asserted,
“I had people that I could have fought back but I did not. I let the police deal with them.” Sudi further emphasized his non-violent stance, stating, “I said we should not injure anybody. I said let them do what they want. Even when my opponents were mobilising the crooks, I knew it.”
Club Renovation and Future Plans
Despite the recent destruction, Sudi announced that his nightclub had already undergone renovation and was set to reopen within a week.
This comes after the MP had hinted that he would quit politics, saying that he’s doing much in politics than for himself.
