Defense Cabinet Secretary Aden Duale has called on President William Ruto to take action against underperforming Cabinet Secretaries.
In an interview on Citizen TV, Duale said he would resign if the President felt he wasn’t meeting expectations.
“If the President feels I have let him down as a Minister of Defense, I want him to do the right thing,” Duale stated.
Review All the Cabinet Secretaries
He urged Ruto to review all Cabinet Secretaries’ performance and make decisions on who to keep or dismiss. Duale expressed readiness for such changes, saying,
“Not only start with me and all the rest who have let him down in the interest of the Kenyans and tell us to step aside, I will have a new team. I am ready.”
The CS highlighted his past service as a Member of Parliament, Majority Leader, and now Defence Minister. He reiterated his willingness to step aside if deemed necessary.
“Anybody he feels is baggage and he feels should come out of the bus he is driving, he should do it, including me, Aden Duale,” he added.
Duale’s comments came shortly after senators, led by Kakamega’s Boni Khalwale, called for an overhaul of Ruto’s cabinet.
