The much-awaited 2024 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) results were released on Thursday, January 9, by Education CS Julius Migos Ogamba.
962,512 Form Four candidates who sat for the examinations were informed of their performance as CS Ogamba released the results at Mitihani House in Nairobi. The number of candidates were 6.89% more than the total number of 2023 KCSE candidates who were 903,260.

How To Check 2024 KCSE Results
The candidates can check their results via the official KNEC portal; results.knec.ac.ke. The candidates need to enter their index number and the name (s) as per the registration data for the 2024 KCSE examination.
Unlike in previous years, candidates will not be able to access their KCSE results through SMS code, which was disabled before the release of 2023 KCSE results.

2024 KCSE Results Analysis Summary
– 246,391 candidates that is 25.53% of the total candidates attained the direct university entry grade which is C+. This was a 3% increase from the 2023 KCSE results.
– The total number of students who attained an A (plain) grade were 1693 candidates, an increase from the 1216 candidates who had the same grade in the 2023 KCSE results.

– 840 candidates were involved in examination irregularities and their results have been cancelled.
– 10 subjects recorded a drop in performance compared to the 2023 KCSE results
– Female candidates performed better in several subjects while male candidates outperformed female their counterparts in 23 subjects.
Note: Since the inception of KCSE, this is the first year where the number of female candidates were more than the male candidates.
